Wogo is a marketing tool and search engine for bars, cafes or restaurants and is present in five countries. Get to know the team and find out about their inspirations and future goals in our Startup Pick.

About us. 

Our one-line pitch is...
WOGO is a platform and a search engine for the hospitality industry and currently already includes 250.000 establishments in five countries. Tailored to the modern needs we offer the hospitality industry a business solution in order to present themselves on the internet and give them a point of contact with their customers.

The core of our team...
Markus Wadl – Founder and CEO with visionary entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for aesthetic design and innovation. We’re supported by software partner companies, our team in Bucharest (Romania) and commercial business partners.

Our office in looks like...
We just moved into our new office. A quarter-of-a-century old innovation center in the old town of Klagenfurt. Spacious rooms with high ceilings and many plants encourage creative work. It’s a place where one feels comfortable spending a lot of time.

The person that inspires us most…
Without a doubt, that would be Steve Jobs, his talent to develop totally new products ahead of his time and thus change our way of thinking and living is inspirational without end. In addition it’s also exciting to see what kinds of projects Elon Musk promotes and, last but not least, the design pioneer Dieter Rams and Apple’s Chief Designer Jony Ive.

About our journey so far. 

Before we started we were...
Already self-employed, we knew exactly what we were planning and that we would be able to put all our comprised knowledge into practice.

We received our initial capital through...
We were extremely lucky to have an investor on board already from the start, who believes in the idea and innovation and supports us.

Our most difficult time so far was...
The ups and downs of a startup are surely not easy and have affected us. The time it took to develop WOGO was really long, in order to transform our plans into reality. Anyone who has tried to create an independent search engine and simultaneously a platform understands what I mean. Being mentally strong, believing in your own product and pushing yourself daily beyond your limits not only puts a great demand on your mind but also on your bodies. It pleases us all the more to have achieved a re-launch in January 2015.

About little steps and big dreams. 

Our next target is...
We’re looking forward to releasing the WOGO App for iOS in the AppStore and hoping to reach many people this way. To give them a great application they will love and appreciate to search for restaurants. At the same time we’re already starting the development of the Android Version in order to meet the demands of the entire smartphone market.

If your say investment we say...
We say yes – because we’re searching for investors and business partners  in order to grow, to open up our market in five countries and be able to present ourselves to a broader base with marketing.

The one thing, we couldn´t go on without is...
Having tried to develop the best product for our customers.

In five years we want to be...
Hopefully found on every smartphone with our WOGO app and to be number one in Europe for business clients in the hospitality industry.
