17 startups that help you stay active
After our last Startup Pick Spoteee, we decided it was time to browse for other sports-related startups that are supposed to keep us moving and active, (and actually make exercising more fun). Here’s our selection of sports startups in CEE – in case you know of anybody we may have missed, make sure to hit us up. In the meantime, take a look and get off that chair!
Bicycling
BikeCityGuide
Country: Austria
Graz-based startup BikeCityGuide helps cyclists navigate through 33 cities and gets them safely from A to B. They recently launched Finn, a silicone-based mount and BikeNatureGuide for hikers.
Ego-Sports
Country: Austria
Salzburg-based EGO-Sports produces a kit that can be mounted on a bike, turning it into an e-bike with a top speed of 70km/h and the traction necessary to ride uphill.
FlyKly
Country: Slovenia
The Slovenian startup FlyKly recently rocked Kickstarter – they raised their goal of 100.000 dollars within two days. FlyKly promises to upgrade an ordinary bicycle with a motor and turn it into a pedal assist.
Greyp G12
Country: Croatia
Croatian startup Rimac Automobili launched the Greyp G12, a bicycle that can be turned into a motorcycle.

Runtastic
Country: Austria
Initially, Runtastic focused on runners, who could track their routes. Bynow, they offer mobile apps for biking, skiing, walking, workouts, and more.
Spoteee
Country: Czech Republic
This Czech startup shoots videos for runners so instead of staring at a white wall at the gym, you can watch a video from any place around the world and get the feeling that you are actually running there.

Country: Ukraine
Ukrainian startup Biomech has developed a mobile app called Street Workout Squats. Have your iPhone ready and do your squats wherever you are.
box planner
Country: Austria
Austrian startup box planner is a planning software for crossfitters, who work out at ever-changing venues (“boxes”). With this tool, box owners can keep track of the members’ performance online.
Eversport
Country: Austria
Austrian startup Eversport is a sports platform, aiming to inform their users about sports venues in Vienna. They recently launched their database that includes more than 500 venues for some 80 different activities. Out of 800 offers, sport enthusiasts can find out about prices, opening hours and will soon be able to book sessions online.
GymRealm
Country: Bulgaria
The platform helps you find a gym, tennis club or any other sport centre by name or city. GymRealm is still in beta.

Sportly is a platform where you can find your trainer and book sport sessions available in your city.
Sportemia
Country: Slovakia
With Sportimea, gym owners can provide class schedules online and customers can easily book a session.
Sportlyzer
Country: Estonia
Sportlyzer has developed a mobile app that is a training management tool for sport clubs that helps coaches to monitor their athletes.
Train’rs
Country: Serbia
Serbian startup Train’rs recently launched an application for personal trainers, which helps them create personalised web pages and manages their business for them.
Wellioo
Country: Slovenia
Joining a gym is easy but actually finding the motivation to go run on a treadmill regularly, not so much. We all need a little push to stick to our workout routine. Aware of this, Slovenian startup Wellioo has worked on a way to stay active.
Other sports
Divesquare
Country: Bulgaria
On the Divesquare platform, scuba divers can discover new spots, find dive buddies and share their underwater experiences. The website is still in beta.
Skiipi
Country: Croatia
Croatian startup Skiipi helps you stay in touch on ski slopes. They are in Eleven’s new batch and expect to launch soon.
