Our one-line pitch is…
Anyline is teaching your smartphone how to read. We are experts in image pre-processing and can scan text with smartphone cameras in even the most unfavourable light conditions.
The core of our team…
Four Founders: Lukas Kinigadner, Managing Director Jakob Hofer, Program Director Daniel Albertini, Technical Director David Dengg, Q&A Director. Three ofour founders (Lukas, Daniel & David) already know each other from way back in school back in Tyrol.
Our office in looks like…
We are sharing our office, the former co-working space “Hutfabrik”, with our friends from mySugr. It’s a cosy place with the same coffee machine as sektor5 (total win!) and a monthly foosball tournament (there might or might not be shots involved). So, yes – we also own a foosball table!
The person that inspires us most…
In order not to sound too inspirational – we aspire to become a Ferdinand Magellan, an Indiana Jones or one of the most adventurous pirates – Blackbeard – of image processing. There is something about unsailed waters and unexplored market niches, that makes us want to take on this adventure!

Before we started we were…
Business Informatics, Medical Engineering, consulting experience, mobile app development – our four founders have diverse backgrounds which work together perfectly. Lukas and Daniel initially started the mobile app agency 9yards GmbH (later Anyline), were joined by Jakob and brought David on board.
We received our initial capital through…
As mentioned above we have been working as a mobile app development agency. Furthermore we received a technology grant from FFG. Recently we also received a grant from the Austrian Business Agency (ZIT) and in December Johann “Hansi” Hansmann, Austrian Business Angel, signed an investment contract.
Our most difficult time so far was…
We’ve spent two whole years of our lifetime developing our image pre-processing technology and even though pinpointing a certain time is difficult, we’ve had a crazy last year, trying to figure out if there were use cases or a market for our technology. We’ll see where the adventure leads us next!
About little steps and big dreams.
If you say investment we say…
… well, nope. We will… later this year again, but at the moment we are trying to make our one Business Angel Hansi Hansmann who just recently jumped aboard happy.
The one thing, we couldn’t go on without is…
In November our youngest team member – Willibald – joined our team. He’s a black Labrador Retriever pup and enlightens our days. Oh and we love Slack. Our LISA (Lustiger Image Server Anyline) is strongly integrated in our personal written conversations and always has a perfect automated answer.

In five years we want to be…
known for driving the Internet of Things movement forward. With Anyline, machines, meters and analogue displays from the 19th century can be turned into Internet of Things because Anyline enables every smartphone camera to connect digits and text on those objects with the internet.
