Now, if the only thing missing on your checklist to start your business is seed funding, then rejoice fellow entrepreneur, Budapest-based accelerator ACME Labs is looking for startups like yours for its 2014 spring programme. The deadline for submissions is 8 November.
Ideal profile
For its inaugural batch, the programme set up by a board of Hungarian and international professionals, is seeking early-stage companies within Hungary and Central Europe. While experience is not required, teams must have international ambitions and disruptive ideas in the digital and green-tech fields.
Thanks to its network in Budapest, London, New York, San Francisco and Seattle and partners such as Microsoft, Google, and Budapest Corvinus University, the programme intends to boost CE startups’ presence on the international scene.
Application process
ACME Labs is now open to online applications by 8 November. A few days later, a batch of pre-selected teams will be notified, and invited to Budapest to pitch their projects to the board in the time span 18-22 November.
Assessments will include the amount ACME would invest and the percentage of the company wanted for it. Successful candidates will then be invited to enroll in the programme, which will take place in Budapest from 13 January to 11 April 2014. Upon acceptance, startups will automatically become an ACME Labs shareholder.
“We’re putting the entrepreneur first at ACME by making every accepted startup a shareholder in ACME Labs. We believe the best entrepreneurs understand that their company grows more quickly in an ecosystem of great people vested in each other’s success,” Gyuri Karadi, ACME Labs’ Chairman said in a press release.
