Apply now for ZIP’s incubator programme
If you’re in a startup, you’re looking to expand and have always wanted to go to Croatia, we have it for you: It’s the programme of Zagreb-based incubator ZIP. Their current application window runs until 1 September – don’t miss it! Or in their words: unZIPyourself. (Well, that’s only one word).
Startups from both in- and outside of Croatia are welcome to apply. The submission details are currently mainly available in Croatian, so we caught up with the ZIP team, and made sure to break them down for you in English, too.
Here’s what you need to know. In order to apply, you have to send an email to the organisers with the following information:
- Project title
- Contact details, including the names, email addresses, phone numbers, and social media profiles of all team members
- High level pitch, or 3-8 words describing your project
- Elevator pitch, or a summary of your project of no more than 150 words
- Link(s) to your website or to a video related to the project
- Presentation in PDF format
The programme is planned to start on 9 September, and will go on for six months. Its, perhaps, main requirement is that applicants must be ready to relocate to Zagreb – it’s part of getting the most out of the programme. “It’s not essential to be here from the very first day, but we organise a first big mentoring session […] in the first two weeks of the programme, so anybody who applies should be in the position to come as soon as possible,” Domagoj Delimar, organiser at ZIP, told inventures.eu.
The ZIP incubator was launched in mid-2012, and is currently looking for its third batch of promising startups. The selected teams will get free coworking space, free access to ZIP’s mentorship network, comprising successful Croatian and international entrepreneurs and experts, as well as exposure to media and investors.
The four main selection criteria include novelty, market potential, disruption and a strong team. In this batch, the organisers will accept between five and ten startups, which “have to be damn good.” No pressure.
Now, go for it – unZIPyourselves and apply!
