Austrian Epiqo announces 150K grant
The web development company Epiqo announced a close to 150K grant from Vienna-based technology agency ZIT. The Austrian startup focuses on recruitment solutions for newspapers, magazines or online platforms and convinced the jury of the ZIT. CEO Klaus Furtmüller talked to inventures.eu about the next plans of the startup.
“The sum will be used to further develop the software jobiqo. More precisely, there will be a feature that actively supports applicants in the search for a job,” Furtmüller said. This development will include a feedback system for job seekers in order to compare skills and qualities with other applicants. “Our goal is clear. We want to become market leader for job portal software on an open source basis,” Furtmüller explained. “With this new development, we want to provide additional services for job platforms based on the software as a service model.”
Founded in 2011, the startup currently runs 16 job platforms and gains around two customers every month with their freemium business model. „Since 2013, we are operating cash flow positive,“ Furtmüller said and stated that revenues add up to 30.000 to 50.000 euros per month. The startup was built without external investment as the CEO explained: “While [bootstrapping] took more time, we now have a solid basis for international expansion.”
