You have got a business concept and stage fright is a foreign word to you? Then you are right at Puls 4’s second round of “2 Minuten 2 Millionen”. The startup show provides an opportunity for young entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas not only to five investors but to a broad TV audience (read more about the first edition here and here). „Already the on air presence on […] in the primetime programme is a big marketing push,” project manager Caroline Klinger is certain.
Second round with improvements
For the second time, the 45 minutes show of Puls4, an Austria TV channel which belongs to the German ProSieben Sat1 Media AG, will give the startups two minutes to present their products and ideas in an effective and convincing way – then it is time for the Business Angels to comment and ask questions. Overall, the participants have the option of winning two million euros – one in cash from the investors and one million as media for equity from ProSiebenSat.1 PULS 4.
On the other hand there will also be some changes to last year’s show as many learnings were done according to Caroline Klinger. “[There will be] a clear cut line between products in the concept phase and companies already operating on the market. “
Premiere for format supporting early stage concepts
In order to support also early stage concepts a new format was created. The show “Querdenker”, which translates as “open-minded thinkers”, will support projects ideas with professional mentoring from successful CEOs. Out of 36 participants who will take part in the overall five episodes of the new format the three fastest developing projects will get the chance to present at the Puls 4 startup show. Moreover, the winners will get a mentor, a training journey to Silicon Valley and business plan support from CONDA.
Application windows still open
While no information on the jurors and investors is made public yet, Klinger revealed that due to complexity this season will waive the topic of crowdfunding and there will be no live finale. Participants will know immediately whether they get the seed capital or not.
Startups can still apply here. The new season will be broadcasted beginning of 2015.
