A group of blockchain organizations have partnered together in Paris to introduce the incubator The Garage. The initiative is looking to improve upon Europe’s position as a leader in the industry.
The French-based organization will provide visibility into the industry and will serve as a platform for entrepreneurs to share ideas from one another.
Said a founding member of The Garage, “The idea is to have a place where people can hang and learn.”
“Blockchain is pretty abstract for most people. To have it in the center of Paris will be key to letting people know things are really happening. It’s like an anchor.”
The Garage will be located across three floors in Paris’s city centre and will be approximately 5,000 feet. A founder of the new incubator, Cyril Paglino, earlier launched Starchain Capital, a venture investment company. Starchain Capital is partnering with Dune Networks, in addition to The Family, a startup focusing on advisory and educational services.
In addition to the space, the incubator will provide a range of services to the entrepreneurs including PR, marketing, and product advice. There will also be a consultancy program and educational services.
Said Talos Digital CEO Amyn Gillani earlier in an Entrepreneur Magazine article, “Putting all the blockchain hype into perspective, if we consider analogous examples of how revolutionary technologies have historically taken root in society – from early adoption to widespread global penetration – blockchain technology can be said to have reached the “early majority” phase.”
“Even so, with a market size now expected to exceed $16 billion by 2024, we’ll surely witness blockchain changing our world in profound ways over the next decade. The question is how and who will take part in leading.”
