Belgrade Venture Forum is waiting for your submissions
On 5-7 November, Serbia will be host to more than 400 innovative entrepreneurs, investors, speakers and international delegates participating in the third edition of the Belgrade Venture Forum (BgVF). This three day event represents the largest investment forum in the region, dedicated to the promotion of entrepreneurship. The BgVF will bring together all those interested in raising capital, finding investment opportunities and creating innovative partnerships. For the startups participating in the pitching competition however, this event represents a chance to take their vision to the next level.
The organisers are looking for a team that has the necessary skills and experience to grow the business and realise its vision.”
The BgVF 2014 will take place at the Belgrade Metropol Palace Hotel where entrepreneurs, investors, corporations and government representatives will come together within the context of a pitching competition and a conference program. Some of the topics that will be discussed include Health 2.0, Clean Tech, investing in women entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship ecosystems among others.
The pitching competition
Up to 35 entrepreneurs will get the chance to present their ideas to a large group of active investors at the BgVF Pitching Competition. Participants will have eight minutes to pitch their vision, followed by seven minutes for Q&A. Additionally, participating startups will spend one on one time with investors discussing financing opportunities and will also be able to take part in hands on workshops on both technical topics and management skills.
Last year, the six best startups were rewarded with hardware prizes (as tablets and smartphones), while the best pitch selected by the jury received a cash reward as well as acceptance into an accelerator. The BgVF2013 winners were Strawberry energy (which went on to be the first Serbian startup to get 100k euros in financing), LiveView, Festomat, Telecardio, Anctu and Mobikupon.
How to apply
The application for the pitching competition is open until 5 October and is accessible online here. Applicants will be evaluated based on the business potential of their idea, the merits of their product (or technology) and their competitive position. Moreover, having a clear investment or partnership goal is also important. Last but not least, organisers are looking for a team that has the necessary skills and experience to grow the business and realise its vision.
If this sounds like you, don’t hesitate to take this opportunity. Good luck!
