About me.
[reference id=”4399″]
I earned my first money with…
our family’s business. One of my first jobs was packing oranges. Later, I also re-vamped old bicycles, buying them for a low price, then selling them for profit.
If I wouldn’t be an investor I would be….
an entrepreneur in the sports area as I love skiing, climbing and mountain biking.
I get annoyed when…
people are not on time or dishonest.
You might not believe it, but we…
once invested in a startup without meeting the owners. Since they were based in the US, we only got the chance to speak with them on the phone. We didn’t meet them in person until after we signed!
My favourite movie is…
any one based on true events or facts. However, if I had to choose, “I am Legend” is definitely a good one.
About passion and profession.
My investment fund is focused on startups in…
Europe or team from US wanting to break in to the European market. We believe it’s important to support and focus on our home region.
I wouldn’t like to work anywhere else because…
everyday is a new adventure. I learn something new and/or meet people with great energy who are ready and excited to start a business from scratch.
The investment plan for the next years is…
to make about 15 investments with 50 percent ICT and 50 percent in disruptive innovation.
Our business relationship with startups is characterised by…
down-to-earth hands-on support in varying languages. We proud to admit that we are active business angels .
Besides money I offer…
a large network of co-investors and tech specialists.
About working with startups.
I was least impressed by dishonesty and teams who didn’t take responsibility for their errors.
In a startup I am looking for…
either an ICT that’s in the development phase – no ready-made product necessary; or hardware solutions that have the potential to become game changers.
Characteristics a founder team should have are…
They should be self-critical, visionary and have the power to “bring things to an end”, meaning the willpower to finish what they start. Moreover, a team should be diverse, but not too different – otherwise there could be too much dispute in overall vision.
I was most impressed by…
the turn around of one of our startups – some even made it without fresh money.
I was least impressed by…
dishonesty and teams who didn’t take responsibility for their errors.
You get most out of relationship with me when…
you are excited about what you do and manage to put a smile on our faces.
