Codie
About us.
[reference id=”4445″]
Our one-line pitch is…
Codie is a robotic toy that teaches kids the principles of coding.
The core of our team…
Adam Lipecz: cofounder and CEO, Andras Hollo: cofounder and CTO, Karoly Olah: Embedded System Engineer, David Baka: Production Engineer, Peter Erdei: UI/UX Designer, Alex Fehertavi: PR and Marketing
Our office in looks like…
We’re based in Budapest and right now we’re in a temporary location. We’re working from the apartment of one of our colleagues, but we’re planning on moving on shortly.
The person that inspires us most…
The person who inspired us most is Sir Ken Robinson and his views on how school kills creativity in kids. His vision on nurturing a school environment that helps kids reach their full potential is the same we’d like to achieve with Codie.
About our journey so far.
Before we started we were…
The two founders, Adam and Andras were studying at the Technical University of Budapest. Adam teached programming for freshmen at the uni and was an intern at Microsoft. Andras had some previous experiences with entrepreneurship. For a year Codie was a side project, full time since February 2014.
We received our initial capital through…
The first investment of 125,000 dollars came from the Hungarian investor iCatapult.
Our most difficult time so far was…
Our harshest time was last December, where we hit a dead end financially and professionally, we were running out of money and we were still far from being able to launch our crowdfunding campaign. During the winter we worked really hard to get out of this situation and there’s much work ahead of us.
Our current development state is…
Scale
About little steps and big dreams.
Our next target is…
Our next target is to successfully close our current crowdfunding campaign, which is already past 60%. We’re in campaign mode, everybody is chipping in with their work. Afterwards we get back to developing Codie for the 2015 fall shipping.
If you say investment we say…
We’re in the stage of expanding and we’re open to everything!
The one thing, we couldn’t go on without is…
We love Slack, Asana, Zendesk and our Nerf guns!
In five years we want to be…
We want to be a serious actor in the edtech market and get a global reach. We’d like to focus more on schools and creating a curriculum around Codie, so kids will make their first steps in coding with our robot.
