Today, Graz-based Bike City Guide announced that they will provide heatmaps of bike motion to help urban planners to organise public space. While the startup’s navigation app for cyclists aims to gather information about daily routes, dangerous crossings and rush hours on two wheels, users can decide themselves if they want to make their data available for evaluation purposes or not. In Berlin, Bremen, Vienna as well as Graz heatmaps are already existing, but increasing the amount of data can give new inputs for traffic planning on the bikeway.
