You’ve been working on your startup all summer long and now you need a financial boost to take your product to the next level? Vienna’s creative agency departure has not only one but four possibilities for you. With their application windows, they’re looking for fresh and innovative ideas in the areas architecture, design, media, audio vision, multimedia, and music. The deadlines are programme-specific, so make sure to check them all out below!
The perks for successful applicants will include an investment of up to 200.000 euros (depending on the programme), as well as networking opportunities and extensive consulting sessions with departure’s partners. The only catch: Your startup has to be based in Vienna in order for you to apply.
Focus New Sales
How do you bring a new product to your customers? This essential question should be answered in departure’s special focus New Sales. Here, it’s all about sales, distribution, and marketing. Unlike the other calls, the focus doesn’t take place four times but only once a year.
Submit your marketing strategy and get to know how to better position your project in your target market. You should have at least a prototype ready. The available budget for focus New Sales is 1 million euros, with each project able to receive up to 200.000 euros. Deadline is 3 October.
The remaining three programmes open their application windows four times a year.
departure pioneer
You have a brilliant idea and want to start up but don’t have the financial means? departure pioneer might be something for you to look into. Present your business plan and convince the jury that it’s doable. departure will support you in terms of financing the development of your prototype, marketing, tax advice costs and more that would otherwise empty your personal bank account before you know it. Your startup is eligible for pioneer if it was either founded in the past year or its launch is planned within the next six months. Projects could receive up to 25.000 euros. Deadline for departure pioneer is 16 September.
departure experts
Being self-employed is fun but definitely not easy. Sometimes some expert advice could really help you make the next step. If your startup is in the development stage and already has a defined unique selling proposition (USP), you should give departure experts a try. Individual projects could receive up to 20.000 euros and support from experts to realise their planned next steps. Apply by 16 September.
departure classic
Your startup has been around for a few months and you know you need to step it up in order to compete. departure classic could support you with up to 200.000 euros if youconvince the jury that your product is sustainable and has a strong economic focus. The agency will support you in terms of development, marketing, and sales strategies. Deadline is 14 October.

Once you submit your application, the jury will first focus on the creativity and innovation of the project before they look at the founder/team. The agency also offers consulting interviews that should help you figure out which application window is the right one for your startup.
