Get out of Europe: iCatapult presents its programme from Budapest
Recently, we have reported on a number of accelerator programmes aimed at discovering and financially supporting CEE’s up-and-coming entrepreneurs, thus introducing them to the continent’s startup community (see our articles on Eleven in Bulgaria and Startup Highway in Lithuania). The initiative by recently opened iCatapult seems to have a slightly different approach, which goes something like: “Get out of the continent.”
According to its official press release, iCatapult will hold its Global Launch Announcement on February 13 at 18:00 CET in Budapest. The programme will be broadcast live on the company’s channel. Two webinars will be organised for those who don’t get a chance to watch the live stream.
The technology accelerator is focused on business development and global market access with an emphasis on the U.S., all wrapped in a two-stage programme. The first stage consists of a two-month mentor-driven training in Budapest, designed to expose entrepreneurs to the concept of lean startup. The goal behind this approach is to enable them to create and develop a sellable product. The second stage, which can take from 2 to 12 months, grants teams the opportunity to start up in New York City, and attract potential customers and investors.
iCatapult provides financial support of up to 200K dollars depending on the needs of the submitted project. Participation is admission-based.
