GrabCAD sold for 100M
GrabCAD announced to join forces with the 3D printing company Stratasys. The Estonian startup was soldfor about 100M dollars which is reported as the second biggest exist, after Skype, in this country. While the details of the purchase remain undisclosed, the Estonian cofounder Hardi Meybaum announced that he will stay involved as the head of GrabCAD also after the acquisition is completed.
GrabCAD rus a cloud-based platformfor collaborating on CAD files. Users can view, share and comment on each other’s 3D projects shall help that more and more people get an understanding for the possibilities in design and 3D printing. The startup counts about 1.5 million users from around the world and has offices in US, UK and Estonia. With the purchase, US-Israeli Stratasys aims for a faster adoption of 3D printing and to widen their product range.
