Intralinks acquires docTrackr for 10 million dollars
Romanian startup docTrackr has recently announced its acquisition by American SaaS technology provider Intralinks. The company with offices in Bucharest and Boston, and providing business and personal solutions for encrypting documents, was sold for 10 million dollars. Co-founder and CTO Alex Negrea talked to inventures.eu about the deal.
“Of all the companies offering collaboration and file-sharing solutions, Intralinks was the right match because of their clear commitment to information security,” Negrea said. The current team of 14 will remain involved in docTrackr and in its integration in the Intralinks platform. The cloud service, too, will continue to exist.
“Everything will stay intact,” Negrea said. “Everybody will keep their role and we are even expanding our team and continuing to work from Boston and Bucharest as before.”
Founded in 2011, docTrackr was created as a tool for digital rights management. Next to the web app, docTrackr features a plugin for Gmail and provides security solutions for Box and SharePoint. The service keeps files under the users’ control even after sharing. This allows the users to track PDF, Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents and ensure the security of even sensitive information. As of now, Intralinks will also use docTrackr’s security service.
