Kod.io developer conference comes to Linz
Do you speak Python? Or JavaScript? Or any other programming language, and happen to be in Linz on 1 March? At its second edition, the developers conference Kod.io 2014 promises to “bridge the gap between programming languages and countries” in one of the largest cities in Austria.
Taking place on the first day of spring in a building with personality, as the organisers put it – the Ars Electronica Center, this event is all about creating an environment where people specialised in various programming languages can interact and share their ideas.
Floor Drees, co-organiser of Kod.io, told inventures.eu that “[the conference’s] mission is to create a link between programming languages and countries”. It seems there is a lack of transparency as plenty of times “while visiting developer meetups in Bratislava or Hungary, developers would ask me if I know any companies in Austria, looking for new engineers. And vice versa, I meet a lot of CTO’s who complain they can’t find professional coders,” she added.
The one-day, two-track conference will cover programming languages such as Python, Ruby on Rails and JavaScript, and has invited speakers, among whom developers, engineers and entrepreneurs from different countries, all sharing a passion for programming. The organisers are expecting over 300 guests, and if you want to be one of them, get your ticket here.
During the conference, AustrianStartups, a national community that brings local entrepreneurs together, will host a gathering for startups scouting for a new talent and for developers looking for the next big thing. During this get-together, at least ten startups will get the chance to showcase their engineering culture and expand their team.
So whether you’re a beginner or a fluent speaker of Ruby or any other programming language, do make sure you start your spring at Kod.io 2014!
