kompany receives a financial boost
Some good news from the scene: Austrian startup kompany has recently received an investment of 100.000 euros from Norbert Zimmermann, formerly the CEO of Berndorf AG and currently chair of its board. kompany, founded a bit over a year ago, is a leading business profile platform, which provides SMEs with a complete overview of other companies’ details, including such about shareholders, financial data, reports, and more. It therefore serves as a tool that business owners can use to scan and learn more about potential partners, investors, and why not – competitors.
Founder and co-CEO of kompany, Russell Perry, told inventures.eu that the investment was part of a larger angel round closed last month. It will be used for the further development of the startup’s product as well as for sales activities.
Today, Zimmermann is both part of the advisory team of kompany and a shareholder. “When we first asked him if he was interested to advise kompany, he tried out the service, purchased two reports, and then said he also wanted to invest,” Perry said. “As a young company, we see this as a verification of our plan and strategy.”
In a slightly longer term, Perry explained that the kompany team would like to expand their reach to 120 countries and jurisdictions – now, they cover 24 and will soon be present in Switzerland, too. “In order to grow the business, we are planning on a 4-6-million-euro funding round with the focus being on product development, the expansion of our IT architecture and platform.” The startup – currently employing 14 people – is also planning to expand its sales team so it can offer their customers “product bundles and documents they need to take better decisions for their business,” he added.
Perry was previously the CEO of people search tool 123people.
