“The NOUS Guide and the NOUS Conductor content distribution system were both created in close collaboration with museums and exhibition halls, and have undergone continuous development since 2003.
NOUS Wissensmanagement GmbH has headquarters in Vienna as well as a branch office in San Francisco, California. In addition NOUS Scandinavia is based in Denmark and serves different institutions in northern Europe. Currently, NOUS employs a staff of over twenty and has a huge network of specialists. The development of the NOUS Guide was sponsored by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Research, the City of Vienna’s Business Promotion Program: departure, and Vienna’s Center for Innovation and Technology. The adaptation of the system to the needs of the deaf and hearing-impaired was conducted within the framework of the European Union’s Lifelong Learning Program.
The NOUS Guide and its applications are currently used in numerous European and American museums.
Since 2008, NOUS has been a certified Apple developer, creating iPhone applications for museums and cultural institutions.”
