PODIM 2015: connecting startups with enterprises
This year, PODIM aims to show collaborations between startups and well-establishedcompanies and offers an environment for innovative talents to meet successful companies from all over the world. Benefits of collaboration models, different approaches on working together and analyses of national and international best practice examples will be at the centre of interest.
”Our goal is to ensure two really unforgettable days of learning and networking experience with 600+ participants, 50+ international speakers and 30+ international investors. This year we are focused on connecting startups with corporations or big established companies. Collaboration between big and small companies can lead to even greater success for both,“ the organiser team of PODIM stated.

While there have been speakers from all over the world at PODIM’s stage, this year the event aims to go even more international with keynotes and presentation form speakers such as Gina Waldhorn (Evol8tion) Tristan Harris (Google), Steve Keil (MammothDB), Chris Chabot (Oxygen Accelerator), Eric Brotto (Startupbootcamp) or Ivan Brezak Brkan (Netokracija).
What to expect
The event in the heart of Maribor provides quite a few opportunities for networking, practical work, and learning – but you also have to secure a bit of your time for partying and fun.
The first day will kick off with a networking coffee and slide into a series of lectures and panel discussions that will deliver food for thought over the lunch break. In the afternoon, business individuals will share their experiences on “Technology Trends and Future Unicorns“ or explain how to “Stop at nothing, achieve everything“. Moreover, experienced business people will present their models of collaboration with startups and companies in the region.
At the same time, the big PODIM Challenge chooses the best pitches from the Alpe-Adria region. Participating startups get to pitch to well-known investors and VCs and have the chance to take home a 5K euros voucher by DsgnFwd accelerator.
After the naming of the ‘Startup of the Year 2015’ in the evening, participants are invited to party until late – the second day only starts after 9am.
Day two will be hosted by Daniel Cronin (Austrian startups) and next to several more talks (e.g. “Crowdfunding success story“ by Niko Klanšek from FlyKly), panels (e.g. “Collaboration between startups and established companies“) and speedating sessions, there will be numerous workshops for entrepreneurs and those about to become one (e.g. „Corporate–startup relationships. Finding the right match and making it work“ with Tomasz Rudolf from D-RAFT).
If you are looking for business cooperation, an investor, a cofounder our simply want a second opinion on your business idea – PODIM is the place to be for you.
