The publisher behind Elle and InStyle, Burda International, acquires 25% stake in the Polish startup SHOWROOM, an ecommerce platform for young Polish designers. Founded in 2012, with the help of HardGamma Ventures, SHOWROOM features over 500 designers who sell and present their collections via their website. SHOWROOM co-founders Michal Juda and Jasiek Stasz hope that the “strategic partnership” will introduce Polish designers to the international playing field.
Burda International who manage the international activities of Hubert Burda Media are interested in investments in the development of digital products and focus on growing markets in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and Asia. CEO Fabrizio D’Angelo seems to be in high spirits, stating that: “SHOWROOM is a great concept with fascinating development potential for this type of platform in fashion segment.”
SHOWROOM were also among the 16 finalists of the Pioneers Festival 2012.
