Shwetak Patel to highlight new approaches to healthcare and mobile

This Thursday Shwetak Patel, Professor at the University of Washington, and Yannis Ioannidis, President at Athena Research and Innovation Center, will discuss advances in health and clinical science by highlighting machine learning, sensing and human-computer interaction, among other applicable technologies.

Discussing these technologies and their applications to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the guests headlining the keynote New Ways of Thinking of the Mobile Phone for Healthcare and the current Pandemic have long been thought leaders in this space.
Shwetak Naran Patel, Washington Research Foundation Entrepreneurship Endowed Professor at the University of Washington, was earlier the winner of the ACM Prize in Computing.
Yannis Ioannidis, President and General Director of the Athena Research and Innovation Center, is also a Professor of Informatics and Telecommunications at the University of Athens.
The free event is hosted by ACM, the world’s largest computing society. The organization aims to strengthen the profession’s collective voice through strong leadership and recognition of technical excellence.
