Applications for SOCAP13 (Social Capital Markets) are still open, and social entrepreneurs can apply for a full scholarship until 1 July.
SOCAP is an annual conference in San Francisco, California, connecting global impact investors, foundations, philanthropic organisations, and social entrepreneurs. Aiming to build a market “at the intersection of money and meaning”, SOCAP has convened 5.000 participants from the impact investment and social enterprise scenes since its start in 2008.
What to expect
SOCAP13: Accelerating the good economy expects to bring together more than 1.800 participants from 3-6 September in San Francisco, California. The organisers are looking for high-impact social entrepreneurs from all stages, who build ventures addressing the world’s most pressing issues. This year’s conference will focus on health and oceans, but applications are not limited to these topics. International social entrepreneurs are explicitly welcome.
Social Entrepreneurs can apply until the 1 July here to be considered for a scholarship for full event access (valued at 1.395 dollars), complimentary housing, and increased online and offline visibility during the conference.
Applicants will also be considered for the SOCAP Impact Accelerator Program, taking place on 1-2 September in San Francisco. The Impact Accelerator Program is a two-day mini accelerator programme in collaboration with full-time accelerators, covering pitch trainings, business model refinement, HR and legal management, and more. It enables participants to connect and learn from other entrepreneurs, and prepares them to get the most out of the ensuing conference.
Last years’ social entrepreneurs came from all over the world and were working on global ventures as diverse as allowing women access to sustainable hygiene products, organic waste diversion into renewable energy, accessto clean drinking water for disaster prone communities, and fair-trade soccer balls, to name but a few.
Now’s the time. CEE entrepreneurs, don’t hesitate to apply!
