StockWerk opens its doors
Meeting your team members at a charming Viennese coffeehouse may be fun at the beginning but at some point, you’ll know you need an office space that is affordable and even better – not a basement. You might want to take a look at StockWerk, Vienna’s newest coworking space in walking distance from Westbahnhof.
What used to be a factory is – as of half a month ago – a coworking space over four levels with 65 workstations. After a research trip to Berlin, Alexander Salzmann and his two co-founders were baffled when finding out that Germany’s capital has more than 120 coworking spaces. “It reassured us that there is room for another coworking space [in Vienna] that meets the needs of entrepreneurs,” Salzmann told inventures.eu. “Variety hasn’t harmed any branch yet.”
One of the needs StockWerk addresses is precisely diversity. Whether you’re in a startup, work in graphic design, advertising, PR or science, StockWerk claims to be an open house for everyone. “We consciously made the decision not to focus on a [certain] scene as we believe that synergies take place where all kinds of entrepreneurs come together.”
Plug & Play
StockWerk offers several possibilities, or “plug&play offers”. “It doesn’t matter whether you want to work here for a day or three years,” Salzmann said.
If you’re looking for a space to work at every now and then, check out flexdesks, available for 170 euros a month, including free wifi, printer and kitchen use. And if you’d rather have your own desk, you can rent a fixdesk for 240 euros. There are two office rooms for small teams on the third floor in case you want to work in between your own four walls. The coworking space is open from 9 to 5 but you can also buy the 24/7 extra for 60 euros. Most importantly, there’s a coffee machine.
“Our plan is to turn the ground floor into a room specifically for workshops to offer another possibility to network and expand the creative environment,” said Salzmann. He is also in discussion with several possible partners. “Our goal is to be a lively place where people like to work and exchange ideas.”
