It is summer, it is hot and you look great in your new swimsuit. But somehow you can’t get rid of the feeling that something is still missing – or rather someone. If you are still looking for someone putting sun cream on your back or sharing ice cream with you this summer, the following startups might provide a solution. These young entrepreneurs want to encourage people to get in touch with each other and aim at making dating not only easier but also more fun.
Austria
Are you tired of endless online conversations only to find out that people you are texting are not your type? Austrian online service dayte.me wants to support real dates and provides a platform to connect people in the real world. Instead of browsing through profiles and chatting, users get one partner suggestion a day and can instantly decide whether to meet or not. The service gives you the chance to get to know people quickly and in person, without wasting time in online chatting. See our Startup Pick here.
The Austro-American startup Moosify is a social dating network for music fans. The concept is as easy as it sounds: if you like the same music, you like each other. Moosify users can log their details on their profiles and together with a location based matching the service will suggest people to get in touch with. Why not start a relationship by visiting a concert of your favourite band together?
Estonia
Estonian startup Eat with me is a service not exclusively focused on love-matching but one that brings people together, based on their common taste in food. On the platform, users can host events or attend other peoples’ dinner parties. You don’t have to be a chef to take part – you can also ask other users to bring food or just meet at a restaurant. Eat With Me is about bringing people together for food.
The dating website flirtic promises to find the perfect match for their users via simple compatibility questions. The service suggests partners, who can be contacted and dated instantly. Flirtic uses typical features of social networks such as instant messages, liking, profile postings and provides games and quizzes to engage and match their users.
Latvia
If you ever asked yourself what is wrong with your pick-up lines and always get ditched before you even ask for names, Flirtr could be an app for you. The Latvian startup created a flirt adviser especially for men: It promises to provide chat-up lines that charm women and conversation topics that break the ice. Male users shall overcome their lack of self-confidence by setting a good start with conversation phrases from their personal Flirtr advisor.
Lithuania
Eskimi is a Lithuanian social network aiming to provide room for new friendships. The service wants to keep it short and simple so users can easily access the network and quickly get in touch with others. The web and mobile app provides many features of other well-known social networks such as sending gifts, sharing photos, instant messaging as well as a location-based flirting service.
Poland
Polish Elimi was created for people who hate dating websites. Instead of operating on matching algorithms and user profiles, the dating app works through gamification elements to engage users in the flirting process. Users, for example, can create fun tasks and let others compete by solving them. The service aims to make flirting even more fun than it already is and challenges its users by adventures and quizzes.
Romania
The flirt app Evolso “gives the power back to girls”. The Romanian startup has created a product that matches users by comparing their interests, and provides some features for girls only. Contacting people you want to meet directly, for example, is only possible if you sign up as a female user.
