Startups with a focus on environmental technology have come up with innovative ideas to use solar power, reduce plastic waste, and efficiently clean water. Clearly, we can’t have enough projects that ensure sustainability and better our future prospects. That is why Umwelttechnik Cluster and the Netzwerk Ressourcen- und Energieeffizienz are looking for applicants for the 2013 innovation prize ie:ku.
Austrian startups with an idea or an ongoing project can apply in two categories – environmental technology or resource- and energy efficiency. The winner in each category will receive 1.000 euros prize money and a partnership with Cluster for 2014. The deadline is 29 August and the application form can be found here.
Taking place for the second time after 2010, the ie:ku will award and support projects that have high potential to be implemented. Sustainability is another important criteria the expert jury will base their decision on. Startups should deal with ways to solve problems in areas such as waste, air, soil, (waste)water and noise. Cluster manager Elmar Paireder told inventures.eu that small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are especially encouraged to apply.
So, in case you are overly ambitious, you can submit more than one project idea, however in the best case, you can only win with one.
It’s your time to shine and make a lasting difference – go apply!
