UsabilityTools, a Poznań-based startup, which helps businesses improve the usability of online and offline services, secured itself a boost. Earlier this month, UsabilityTools concluded a deal that brings approximately 250K euros of fresh capital into the company. The investors have acquired 40% of the company’s shares: SpeedUp Innovation gets 16%, Xevin Investment another 16% and its subsidiary Cube Group an additional 8%.
Bartosz Mozyrko and Dawid Wiener have been involved in research on what people do on the internet. To get relevant data on the users, they had to use a multitude of incompatible tools, which is why in 2009, UsabilityTools was born out of necessity – to make their work easier. The European Union (EU) helped Bartosz and Dawid fund the initial development, and over the years, the two managers have assembled an eclectic team. The above-mentioned three are their first investors.
Wiener – the company’s CEO – is himself a cognitive science expert, doctor of medicine and doctor of philosophy. The team has grown to comprise 17 people, nine of whom run UsabilityTools’ core activities – development and UX Design.
UX – or User Experience – is all the company is about. Dawid Wiener told inventures.eu what UsabilityTools strives to be “an all-in-one research SaaS solution that aims to help businesses increase conversion rates and customer satisfaction through a set of online tools,” the main goal of which is to improve usability and user experience. “What is really valuable is that the tools within the platform can be used at every stage of the service/product development.“
The new partners are bringing knowledge and networking capabilities into the company, the company CEO commented on the present investment. “We want to use the money mainly to strengthen sales and marketing activities. We are also considering opening an office outside of Poland. Probably in the US.“ In the long run, Wiener explains that UsabilityTools’ plans are centred around integrating the present set of individual research tools into a full management environment.
