InfoShare2014 is one of the biggest IT & New Media conferences in Europe and took place at Amber Expo in Poland. The event brought together over 2.600 guests and speakers from all over the world. Moreover, the Startup Zone challenge provided an opportunity for young entrepreneurs to present their ideas and projects to a critical jury. During two days of the event, the participants listened to over 50 lectures on 4 different stages, took part in workshops, followed the competition and joined networking parties.
The winners of Startup Zone
One of the highlights of infoShare was the Startup Zone challenge (organized by Gdańsk Business Incubator STARTER). While over 100 submissions had to be evaluated beforehand, seven finalists were chosen to present their ideas to the public and potential future investors. In the end only three were awarded; the first place won a check for 6.000 euros.
The winning project was the Polish startup Professor Why. Their product is an interactive game that uses augmented reality and helps to learn chemistry in a friendly way. Their web and mobile app guides users through the world of chemicals and lets them experiment in a safe environment.
The second place went to Gdansk-based Quantum Lab. Their service tracks and analyses people’s behaviour using modern gadgets such as GPS, accelerometer or camera in order to provide a basis for personal improvement.
Also AudioTrip was among the top 3 startups of infoShare’s entrepreneurial challenge. The service aims to provide routes for discovering new places around you with the use of the interactive map of their mobile app.
The activities at infoShare
Next to the pitching challenge also other activities such as the Big Leaders & Future Trends and the Mobile or Social Media & Marketing paths kept the visitors busy. Also the lively presentation of Natalia Hatalska, who is an expert in non-traditional communication methods, and Piotr Konieczny from niebezpiecznik.pl, who discussed security on Facebook, attracted many participants. In addition to the Polish speakers, also presenters from all over the world such as Ali Jafari from Twitter took part at the conference. Lectures from infoShare will be available to watch on their Youtube channel soon.
