Our one-line pitch is…
Edgar is a storytelling toolkit for word-of-mouth marketing empowering SMEs to engage with their peers.
Introduce your team, and tell us one interesting thing about each member. We are…
Damjan has a PhD in Informatics, but worked mostly as a UX lead in his own studio. With 10+ years in the field and previous startup experience he’s the father storyteller. Damjan also enjoys teaching at the University, while retaining his teenager looks by mingling with the youth.
Maruša is the in-house artist turned designer. She’s a renowned intermedia artist with a passion for visual storytelling. Before Edgar, she worked on numerous international design projects together with the blok-blok crew. She enjoys hacking with plants and pretends she’s Pippi Longstocking.
Lovro is the pragmatic CTO and by far the friendliest person on the planet. A proper hacker of things such as quad copters, he’s on a mission to make the web a better place. One project at a time. And yes, he’s the double sportsman of the year AND a bonsai grower. A true CTO.

Bootstrapping in our own studio and through the savings.
The real pain about starting a business in Slovenia is…
Starting business in Slovenia can be a pain for several reasons. One is the obvious problem of scale – it is hard to reach a critical mass in a country with 2M. Though the bigger issue is the bureaucracy (e.g. high taxes), which makes Slovenia unattractive for foreign investors.
The person that inspires us is…
One of our heroes is definitely Tony Hsieh, the CEO of Zappos and the author of ‘Delivering Happiness’. He proved the impossible by starting a shoe-business online and also is a huge advocate of user-centered design in practice.
The one app/service that we couldn’t live without is…
Google Hangouts. Especially as a part of the team is often traveling and we have to coordinate on a daily basis. On a personal level, probably Twitter.
The one thing we would save from our burning office is…
The huge (really huge) set of experience and customer journey maps with paper prototypes on the wall. That is our documentation, our feature list, our… everything? 🙂
“Craftsmen, who? You don’t want to design for those people!” An advice from several prominent advisors. Provedso untrue, which makes us proud. But we still lost two months of development because we focused on the wrong things.
The one thing that will make us quit is…
If our dear users ever prove us wrong.
Our inside joke is…
We are not in for the money, but for the Bugatti.
You might not believe it, but we…
At some point we want to create a marketplace where people could exchange their goods (wine, craft beer) for expert advice on storytelling. No, really. And we already have a plan in motion.
We’ll call ourselves successful when…
We have established a sustainable business while being able to help micro businesses and organisations for free.
The startup we really want to see on inventures’ Startup Pick is…
Beezinga, our dear friends from Slovenia and one of the beeeeziest startups. Plus they will save the world. Nothing more, nothing less. Note from the editor: Dear team Edgar, check this out.
