What do UC Berkeley, Stanford University, MIT and the New Design University of St. Pölten (NDU) have in common? With the launch of the NDU Masters Program in Strategic Management – Entrepreneurship & Innovation this coming October, they will share outstanding international course formats and cutting-edge classes in entrepreneurship.
This year, the Austrian startup ecosystem will be enriched by academic training for potential entrepreneurs. Bachelor alumni with aspirations of founding their own business no longer have to make a choice between following their dream and furthering their education, as the new NDU Masters will enable them to have a slice of the cake and eat it too.
Stephan JungThe programme, headed by founder and funder Stephan Jung, aims to stimulate entrepreneurial thinking by creating a teaching experience using interdisciplinary courses, small and interactive classes of 30 students and a multidimensional curriculum. At the NDU, “strong focus on entrepreneurship” and “practical experience” are not just catchy phrases. “During the academic programme, students will work together with university staff to bring real startups to life, which they can continue working on after graduation. Thus, by the time they graduate, they have gathered real experience as business founders,” Jung told inventures.eu.
Have you ever wondered how different trends will shape the business environment in the next two decades? How toidentify opportunities and cultivate innovative ideas or how to bring these ideas to life as sound businesses? These are precisely the type of questions that the NDU programme seeks to answer in its three modules:
- Strategic school, focusing on trend analysis, organisational development, strategic and project management;
- Entrepreneurship school, developing vital skills and introducing current tools and methods, like lean startup and canvas business modelling;
- Innovation school, cultivating the creative energy of identifying future trends and developing original ideas to respond to changes.
Whether you’re a student of programming, architecture, or business, it does not matter. Applicants are welcome from all fields of study. What is more, the Master’s Program in Strategic Management – Entrepreneurship & Innovation can be for you even if you are not yet certain you want to start your own business. Within this framework, participants can explore the world of startups, but also develop skills that are increasingly valued on the job market, such as autonomy, a will to take responsibility and business acumen. Along the way they will be guided by a select group of seasoned entrepreneurs and experts. A preliminary list can be found here. Upon graduation, the career opportunities vary from innovation management to product development and business consultancy, among others.
Recent scientific studies confirm that entrepreneurship can be thought to a certain extent and experience is the best way learn to learn. So if you’re ready to embark on this journey, submit yourapplication here by the end June.
