Start-up Day 2013 is a day full of business workshops, presentations, panel discussions, and networking opportunities and all of that in the middle of the beautiful Alps in Innsbruck. Co-organised by the Center for Academic Spin-offs Tyrol (CAST) and aws, the event will take place on 6 June in sync with the motto “Feel the Spirit of Entrepreneurship.”
Start-up Day is open to everybody – from people looking to start or further expand their business to those who simply share an interest in entrepreneurship. The focus this year will be on life sciences, information and other technologies, creative industries, and for the first time – social entrepreneurship.
The event will offer plenty of opportunities to meet and get to know the faces of the Austrian and international startup scenes. A select group of speakers will share their insights and lessons learned from being an entrepreneur, among whom Moriz Piffl of Gebrüder Stitch, Paul Kupfer and Georg Tarne of soulbottles, and Marie Ringler von Ashoka Austria. The complete list is available here.
Apart from the moderated talks and discussions, the Start-up Day will host a number of parallel workshops, covering the topics open innovation, business planning, and lean. You can find out more about them here. Part of the one-day event will also be the innet. cup pitching session, where six startups will present their businesses in front of investors from Tyrol, Bavaria, Switzerland, South Tyrol, and Vienna. (For more information on innet. cup read our report here).
With a busy and diverse programme, the event seems likely to cater to a wide audience of startups, investors, experts, and other interested parties alike. Entry is free of charge; all you need to do is register here. Don’t forget to do so – Innsbruck’s waiting!
