Austrian private TV channel Puls 4 took the opportunity to announce two highlights of their startup show “2 Minuten, 2 Millionen” during the Pioneers Festival in Vienna. The past four weeks, the audience could vote for nine Austrian startups, and the four teams with the most votes now get a chance to raise money on crowdinvesting platform CONDA. General manager of Puls 4 Markus Breitenecker and moderator Daniel Cronin also announced the five business angels, who will invest up to two million euros into projects during the show.
The first show will be aired on 25 November.
Audience-voted top four startups
After some 20.000 online votes, the best four startups are EGO-Kits, NIXE beer, SeniorPad and Compuritas. From now on, not only investors but the audience, too, can invest between 10 and 3.000 euros for their favourite project on CONDA. Eventually, the teams are going to pitch their projects in front of the business angels in the final live show on 16 December.

CEO of Jumio Daniel Mattes and founder of Brainswork Selma Prodanovic are onboard as well. Whereas Hansmann, Holle, Richter and Mattes will be investing cash, Prodanovic will be involved on the media for equity front for SevenVentures. In each show, eight to nine startups will be in the spotlight. They will have two minutes to pitch their concept, leaving time for a Q&A session by the jury afterwards.
Puls 4 received some 700 applications for the show but only 45 startups will actually get the chance to pitch in one of the five episodes. The live show on 16 December will include another two investors, STRABAG founder Peter Haselsteiner and CEO of Herold Thomas Friess.
It ain’t over till it’s over! Startups will get a final chance to receive a “wild card”. Teams can pitch their projects in a video and upload it on the Puls 4 website as well as on their social media. The jury will then decide on the most promising idea and will consider the amount of likes it received.
