Nice Reply
Providing customer feedback for your e-mails, Nicereply was founded in May 2010 as a spin-off of the webhosting company Websupport. A link in the signature allows customers to rate and comment the given support. The newly received data is admitted to the system in real time and can be used for a wide range of statistics. The company, which was founded by Michal Truban, has won the Slovakian Startup award in 2011. It has been part of the Plug and Play Tech Center’s Acceleration Program in Silicon Valley since the beginning of 2012.
SynopsiTV
The idea is simple: tell me what you enjoy watching and I’lI tell you what else you might like. SynopsiTV compiles suggestions for films and TV shows tailored to your taste. It also integrates social networking and allows you to import friends from social media channels, as well as finding recommended users who are on the same page when it comes to entertainment. The self-proclaimed “master of recommendation” was founded by Rastislav Turek and has been online in its beta phase since September 2011. Video-on-demand systems such as NEtflix, Amazon, VoD and youtube are automatically integrated.
Piano Media
Paid online content has been a tough nut to crack for the media industry. Piano Media is dedicated to a paid content strategy and provides a type of national (or regional) paywall behind which the user can find a wide range of media offers from a given country. In Slovakia, Piano Media has made 40.000 euros in its first month after launching in May 2011. A “pay once, use all” model ensures that all content within this system can be accessed using a single login and single payment of either 1,99 euros per week or 48 euros per year. Piano Media founder Tomáš Bella has been negotiating with publishers from eleven different European countries.
CoverPage
CoverPage aims to cover the gap between print magazines and the iPad. It allows to easily create interactive media content for iPad and iPhone through its own software-interface, developed by MONOGRAM Interactive. “Definitely a great idea”, praises Jupe Tan from the Plug and Play Tech Centre in Silicon Valley, where CoverPage CEO Robert Mindžák has been placed second at the Slovakian Startup Awards 2011.
iNOVA sys
The company iNOVA sys was founded by Matej Ftacnik and provides software solutions for startups including web and mobile app development, multimedia content creation and consulting. Executive manager Boris Sebosik emphasises that, “We wanted to develop things that actually work in the real world, not just in the heads of our clients.” Projects at the moment include Lingibli (see below) as well as international customers such as Warrantify from India.
