High up in Vienna’s media tower, 12 Austrian startups pitched their ideas to an expert jury earlier this month. They were chosen among 30 startups that originally participated in the trend@venture competition.
Each startup had a two-minute video presentation, a four-minute pitch followed by four minutes of Q&As with the jury, which included CEO of SpeedInvest Oliver Holle as well as founder of Pioneers Andreas Tschas. “We were impressed with the quality of the startups,” Vanessa Voss, jury member and editor of trend, told inventures.eu. “They confirmed the lively dynamic of the Austrian startup scene.”
The jury evaluated the startups based on their presentation, innovation and market potential of the product, previous success as well as scalability and monetisation. At the end of the evening, the four finalists were selected. Here is a brief overview of who they are:
Tractive
Have you ever lost your dog? The startup has developed a GPS device that can be attached to your pet’s collar so the owner can track the animal on his or her smartphone.
MercuryPuzzle
Finding the right job is difficult if you’re not quite sure what you want to do. MercuryPuzzle helps you discover your true talents and lets recruiters discover you.
Locca!
“Stop searching – start living” is Locca’s motto. The “world’s smallest GPS tracker” can be attached to a bicycle, car or animals and toddlers so you can be sure you’ll never lose anything again.
LineMetrics
Manufacturing businesses constantly aim to optimise their production line. With LineMetrics’ device equipped with sensors, SMEs can monitor and analyse each step to the final product.
