Our one-line pitch is…
Fleißige Biene‘s service portal virtualises neighbourly help.
Introduce your team, and tell us one interesting thing about each member. We are…
Nic is the 19-year-old code wizard behind the website and its mobile version. He programmed it all within one month while in his second year studying medicine in Graz. Stephy does the organising, texting, designing, marketing, networking. As a management consultant, she takes the plane a minimum of twice a week to and from her clients. In her spare time, she has hitchhiked further than 6.000 kilometres.
We received our initial capital through…
Ourselves. Our initial capital is the time and energy that we have invested. And a little bit of our savings.
Photo credit: Michael BösendorferThe real pain about starting a business in Austria is…
The awareness and interest for start-ups in the web business is at an early stage in Austria. Investors are not as numerous, interested and readily available as they might be in other countries.
The person that inspires us is and…
Two persons. Our parents. They‘re very entrepreneurially minded, always thinking of ways to take their ideas to the next level. We have certainly inherited their perfectionism and their strong internal motivation.
The one app/service that we couldn’t live without is and…
Due to living and working in different cities, Trello helps us keep an overview of the big picture, each other‘s current work and our next steps. Since we use any spare minute for our work on Fleißige Biene (be it on the plane, at weekends, at night etc.), it simplifies our synchronisation.
The one thing we would save from our burning office is…
Besides our computer back-up? The original photograph of the portable drilling rig that our great-grandfather invented. It reminds us of the importance of thinking outside the box and following your own ideas as an entrepreneur.
The worst piece of advice we ever got was…
„Do not invest your own money in your own business idea.“ We believe that start-ups become successful thanks to the energy, passion, time and money invested by its founders. The foundation of the business should be laid before investors come on board.
The one thing that will make us quit is…
Quit? No. But if either one of us would start a family, s/he would probably take a break from Fleißige Biene. That‘s the great thing about having two founders and knowing that we can rely on each other.
Our inside joke is…
Due to having known each other since Nic‘s birth, there‘s no way we can pinpoint that one inside joke. They‘re mostly about our parents anyway. That‘s the thing about being siblings…
You might not believe it, but we…
We are both Grand Canyon National Park Junior Rangers.
We’ll call ourselves successful when…
We would like to become the #1 service portal for occasional neighbourhood jobs in the DACH region. It would be cool if investors would contact us (and not the other way around) with the idea of sponsoring us.
The startup we really want to see on inventures’ Startup Pick is…
Mama näht – it‘s a cute, family-friendly business by a friend.
