Tags and Tweets at BabelCamp in Brno
For many startups social media is their main way to communicate with the world out there. Sometimes all those hashtags, tweets and posts confuse the hell out of you? Then, we might have just the right event to give you insight into the mysteries of social media.
About 250 people can join BabelCamp, the social media barcamp in Brno on 31 August. Taking place for the first time, initiator Adam Zbiejczuk has invited speakers from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, and Austria. You can find the registration form here. The first 100 people to register will be put on the attendance list, the remaining will be hand-picked – so make yourself stand out!
Why startups should join?
“Startups will get the latest news about how to use social media,” Zbiejczuk, the initiator and also mentor at StartupYard, told inventures.eu. “It is their main communication channel, so it is crucial for them to learn about how to do it right.”
Zbiejczuk wants BabelCamp to be a session where the audience will lead most of the discussions. “And the speakers should help achieve that,” said Zbiejczuk.
Among them will be Ali Mahlodji, CEO of Austrian startup whatchado and Customer Relations Manager at SocialBakers, Rudolf Kviz. Peter Kadas, CEO of Hungarian startup BrandVocat is going to talk about his experience with his social startup and David Szabo, Hungarian tech entrepreneur and founder of BrandVee, will focus his presentation on how companies can find the most active fans. There will also be talks by social media experts, media representatives, and academics. Find the entire list of speakers here.
In case you’re interested in joining the list of speakers, you can apply here by 15 August. There will also be a chance to sign up for a 10-minute presentation at the event if you want to tell your side of the story. “Participants should get information, inspiration, and contacts,” Zbiejczuk said. “It is going to be informal, from networking to an electro-swing after party.”
