Twin-up for growth!
You had an idea. Great! Now you have a startup company. Even better! What’s next to keep it going? How to expand? What to do to make it abroad?
If you are from Slovakia or from (and around) Vienna, lucky you! Experts from the Viennese and Slovak business associations got together to help their local startup communities find the answers, and the result was the TwinEntrepreneurs project. It is a new cross-border initiative aimed at providing practical assistance to startups from the region that want to make the second step – sustain their business and expand abroad.
What is it about?
As their first endeavour, TwinEntrepreneurs will launch a series of workshops in both capital cities in late May, open to companies from Vienna and all of Slovakia. If your company already exists and has a business model, this might be the chance for you to learn about the next steps. By bringing together startup businesses from the region, the organisers want to promote the idea of theVienna-Bratislava region as one market, and support the exchange of know-how across and along the Danube. The TwinEntrepreneurs events will offer networking possibilities and, last but not least, enable participants to learn from the trainers – among them some of the big names of the CEE business world – and from each other.
The upcoming series of workshops is now open for registration. Starting with the first one in Vienna on 28 May, a total of four workshops will take place over the course of May and June in Bratislava and Vienna. With your business growth in mind, each meeting will focus on one of its core elements: ideas behind the growth strategy, market and competition analysis, marketing and brand-building, and funding.
Why choose this event?
For one, it will be about you and your business. Each of the workshops will be run by a different expert but the sessions will be interactive and centred on you. Strategies, business models of others, your own business ideas as wellas the dos and don‘ts will be discussed. You will learn from your peers – an international group of participants will challenge you and prep you up for your leap abroad. If you’re looking for a key word, it’ll probably be “feedback”.
As a bonus, an e-learning tool will be launched on Day 1, which will be open to all the participants throughout the course of the workshop series. With it, you will be able to follow up on the workshop sessions and consult the trainers and your peers on your business-specific issues.
The workshops are free-of-charge and held in English. Although not a pre-condition, the organisers advise to register for all four workshops on offer, as the next session builds on the previous one. The slots are limited (16-18 companies, half from Vienna, half from Slovakia), so don’t put it off! For more information and to register, click here.
