Videoflot secures 1M from Y Soft VC
If you are in need of a video but haven’t got anyone to hold the camera, Videoflot can help you out. The Brno-based startup received a sum of 1M euros form Y Soft Venture Capital and plans to reach out across the big pond.
Videoflot provides an online marketplace for producers, actors, filming experts to offer their services and connect to clients. The over one million euros investment (30 million CZK) will be spent on growing their team, currently existing of 14 people, to 25 employees within one year. Moreover, with the money and the strategic consulting support from Y Soft VC, the startup plans to expand to other markets such as USA and Latin America.
Towards building a global video production ecosystem
Moreover, Y Soft’s support regarding localisation services, coaching management and cross-promotion shall help “[t]o build a global video production ecosystem,” Radek Hradil, head of marketing at Videoflot, told inventures.eu. Moreover, their service shall provide a service for “[v]ideomakers, casting people, voiceover and other entities necessary for video production connected on one platform and easily networkable.”
Even though hours of video material are produced every minute, getting a good value wedding video or accomplished actors for your short film can be a tough task. To make the process of video production more accessible, Videoflot decided to develop their marketplace where users can create profiles and search for like-minded or job seekers in the pool of creative talents. A feature that localises the search makes it possible to use this service even for last minute jobs.
The origin of the startup dates back to the Czech StarCube accelerator programme in 2012 where the foundations of Videoflot were layed. After they drew on public attention due to their viral video “Rider on the Highway” and another run at South American StartUp Chile in 2013, Videoflot’s platform was redesigned and got their first paying customers in the following fall.
