The Austrian Vice Chancellor Reinhold Mitterlehner distinguished voestalpine with the Innovation Prize 2015 for its fireproof vehicle body panels. „The Innovation Prize is a hallmark of quality for businesses. […] The successful implementation of new ideas is crucial for Austria’s wealth,“ said Mitterlehner. Overall, 618 companies applied for the annual award, which is organised by Federal Ministry for Science, Research and Economy by the AWS.
Besides, Austrian Economic Chambers awarded the ECONOVIUS, a special prize the most innovative small business, to Geodata GmbH. Also VERBUND gave out a special prize called VERENA and awarded the AB Mikroelektronik GmbH in cooperation with the university of Salzburg.
