wikifolio.com launches in Austria
The social trading platform wikifolio.com is officially launching its service in Austria, the company has announced. Based in Vienna, the startup with CEO Andreas Kern has so far been operating exclusively in Germany. Active since August 2012, it has attracted an ever-higher number of investors to invest in wikifolios, or the trading strategies of the best traders.
Following the trades of experienced traders, however, is one possibility. Investors can also use the platform to post their own trading strategies as a wikifolio.
In January, the social trading platform reported reaching “over 10 million euros of ‘assets under management’” – that being the capital invested in wikifolios, as well as more than 200 approved wikifolios and an increasing user base. To compare, a bit over two months later, the invested capital exceeds 21 million euros, and the number of investable wikifolios – all of which listed on the stock exchange in Stuttgart (Börse Stuttgart) – has gone up to nearly 400.
In February, the startup also reported having closed a financing round with Austrian business angel SpeedInvest and with Germany-based Lang & Schwarz AG.
